Young Za Shin, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 10, 1944, in Seoul, Korea, she demonstrated early on a profound dedication to her education, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Ewha Womans University before embarking on a life-changing journey to the United States in 1967 for graduate studies.
In 1970, Young married Inkun Shin, with whom she shared a loving and supportive partnership throughout their lives. Together, they raised a beautiful family, reflecting her warm and nurturing spirit. Young was the proud mother of Alice Putti and Andrew Shin, and later became an adoring grandmother to Brady, Tyler, and Sydney Shin. She cherished the time spent with her family, always excited to make memories and share laughter.
As the oldest of four children, Young's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family; her warmth and love created lasting bonds within her family network. Her generous spirit and enthusiasm for life made her a joy to be around, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Young Za Shin leaves behind her loving husband Inkun, her children Alice and Andrew, her son-in-law Matthew Putti, her daughter-in-law Xuan Tran, and her cherished grandchildren Brady, Tyler, and Sydney.
