William Wells

William Orie Wells of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on November 18, 2021 at Bronson Hospital.

Bill was born on October 13, 1954 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the only son of James Wells and Rayna (Taylor/Hoff) and the older brother to Patty, Julie, Shirley (Sam), and Peggy. Bill served in the Army right out of high school and learned the Sheet Metal trade after he returned stateside. His love of aviation led him to return to school and earn his pilot's license and a Double Masters of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle University. Along on his journey since 1990 was his adoring wife, Charlotte who preceded him in death on November 18, 2013. They were reunited in heaven on the same exact day only eight years apart. Bill is survived by his children Angela (Dave) Soderquist, Sarah Wells, Matthew Wells as well as Jessica (Bill) Cox and Derek (Michelle) Yarworth and eight grandchildren, Magie, Abby, Bryn, and Rylee Soderquist, Caleb Cox, and Nia, Avalon, and Emersyn Yarworth.

A Celebration of life will be held on January 22, 2022 @ 11am at The River Church, 517 Walbridge St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The River church in memory of Bill and his passion for their ministry.
