William Maxwell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather William John Maxwell who left us on February 27th 2024 at the young age of 56. Bill as he was fondly called by friends and family was born October 15th 1967 to the parents of John and Genevieve Maxwell in Pontiac, MI moving with siblings Pam, Shawn (Angela) to Evart MI in 1977 parents later adding another sibling Amy (Nate) in 1982. After attending Evart High School he moved to Reed City, MI then to Hersey, MI.

Bill was a loving, caring brother who was always there for his family and friends when they needed him. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face. In his free time Bill enjoyed camping, canoeing and ice fishing. He was always eager to share his knowledge and experiences with others.

Bill served 6 years in the National Guard during this time he also worked installing flooring and then became self employed carpenter, and eventually became the maintenance man for the Village of Hersey, MI.

His greatest endeavors were his children KD, Amber (Chris Stout), and Lora, along with his four grandchildren William Buss, Avaya Burns, Alisseya Burns, Adelaide Stout who were his true joys in life, along with his dearest friend Juliet Champagne who was his rock and cared for him in his times of need.

Bill will be joining his father John in Heaven, as for his mother, children and siblings he will always be in our heart and thoughts as we finish our time here.

Celebration of Life for Bill will be held March 9th, 2024 at the Evart Moose from 2-5pm.
