William Downing

William Chappell Downing, Ill died November 29, 2020 at Azpira of Breton in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born to Agnes and Bill Downing, Jr. in 1940 in Springfield, Illinois. He was a hydroplane racer as a young man, and continued to work in marine divisions of companies in Chicago and Grand Rapids. After retirement he enjoyed working at Meijer. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved little sister, Jane. He leaves two sisters, Libby (Jack) and Ann (Guy), 8 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He was greatly beloved and will be very missed by his family and friends. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will only be a private ceremony. Memorials would be appreciated by the American Alzheimers Association.
