Wendell I. Kennedy of Spring Lake passed away on January 2, 2021,he was called home and left his Precious Piece of Paradise on Spring Lake. Wendell was born in Central Lake Michigan on May 5, 1941. He left there to embark on a life filled with numerous adventures with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Pluma Kennedy, sister Jean Hirt and son Mark Allen Kennedy. Surviving are his wife of 41 years Kathryn(KK) Kennedy, children Wendell Kennedy Jr. and Trisha Boardman. Grand “babies”, Dawn(Andrew) and Sirena Boardman. Great Grand “babies” Roxanna and Chloe. Siblings Bud(Carol) Kennedy, Leon(Diane)Kennedy, Marjorie Homrich. Brother-in-law Bud(Melody) LeGallee, sister-in-law Kristine Keeling, Numerous nephews and nieces. Wendell worked at Knape & Vogt for 32 years before retiring in 2002. He was a bright star with an ever present smile and welcoming personality. KK was the love of his life for 45 years. Together this loving team enjoyed entertaining on the waterfront, boating, and tailgating at MSU football games. They loved hitting the road taking extensive travels throughout the US. Wendell loved and cherished time with his friends. His positive attitude was contagious. He was loved by all who met him and will be missed beyond words. There will always be that “Empty Chair” with a Bud Light. He is still with us always.
