Walter L Baker, Jr.

In loving memory of Walter L Baker Jr. (Butch) who passed away in Grand Rapids MI on July 8,2026 at the age of 80.

Butch was a student with Newaygo Public Schools prior to joining the Marine Corps. He proudly served his country in Viet Nam during the war. 

Butch was preceded in death by his father Walter L Baker Sr, his mother Helen Chamberlain Baker of Grant his sister Charmin L Baker-Westra of Newaygo and also his wife Linda Arnold-Baker.

He is survived by: His two sons, Jamie Baker and Shawn Baker both of Newaygo. His sisters Nancy Baker-Manning of Jenison, Darla Baker Forbes (Roy) of Newaygo and his brother Charles Baker (Vicki) of Grant. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

Abiding to his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral service and his remains will be buried in Hillside Cemetery at a later date. A day of remembrance will be scheduled for the near future.
