Vincent "Rick" Dillon

March 18, 1954 — January 23, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vincent “Rick” Dillon, 70, on January 23, 2025. He was born March 18, 1954, in Cass City, Michigan, the son of Vincent and Helen (Seurynck) Dillon. He died surrounded by family in Grand Rapids, Michigan after suffering a stroke.

Rick was the husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" (Lamb) Dillon, with whom he shared almost 45 years of marriage. He was the proud and loving father of Josh (Prerna) Dillon, Gregory (Bethany) Dillon , and Jill (Fritz) Nuffer, and the cherished grandfather of Aria, Teagan, Zoe, Josie, and Nettie. His family was his greatest pride. Rick’s love extended to his sisters, Pam (Richard) Reid and Penny (Victor) Joffe, in-laws, nieces and nephews and their families, and many special cousins.

He was a part-time farmer and full-time mechanic until rheumatoid arthritis and spinal issues took such a toll on his body that he was unable to work. Rick took great joy in solving mechanical problems and working with his hands. Whether repairing farm equipment, heavy machinery, UPS trucks, or his own vehicles, he was well-known for his skills as a mechanic. He found happiness in lending his expertise to family and friends.

Rick had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and talking about John Deere tractors and farming. He demonstrated his love through quiet acts of service, whether helping a friend in need, guiding his family, or simply being a steady, dependable presence. He was always there with a word of encouragement or a playful tease. He cherished time spent with family, making special memories with his unwavering love. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished – finally free of pain.

According to Rick’s wishes, a private memorial will take place this summer to celebrate his life. His ashes will be laid to rest in special places meaningful to him.
