With profound sadness we announce the passing of Vicky Marie Spencer, who passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2026, at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Vicky is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Heather, her grandchildren, that she adored, Raelynn and Jase; her beloved siblings, Jim & Bobbi Poley, Mike & Michele King, Steve & Jane Schulte and Tim Poley. Her cherished nieces and nephews, Alyshia, Mike, Jimmy, Joe, Krystal, Pat, Deanna, Dylan, Grace, Isaiah, Julie, Chris, Michael, Kelsey, Jestin, Nick, Caitlin & Jake, many great nieces, nephews, a great great niece & nephew her longtime boyfriend, Jim VanDyke; many aunts & uncles.
Vicky will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, and her love shared with everyone around her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially working on puzzles, playing bingo and cards, and spending precious time with her family and friends. Her laughter, warmth, and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grace (Speigl), Arlene (Boomgaard) Poley, and Martin Poley. Her brother, Mark Poley, many aunts, uncles and her grandparents.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she gave us, grateful for the time we shared with Vicky, the love she shared and the goofy fun she shared with all who knew her. Her courage, resilience and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Faith Hospice and close friends for their compassionate care, and support they provided, allowing Vicky to remain home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, during her final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25 at Marne American Legion Hall; 1469 Arthur St, Marne from 3 to 7.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
