Thomas L. Thompson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, passed away on August 24, 2025, at home, in Marshall, Michigan, at the age of 78. He was born on February 4, 1947, in Battle Creek, Michigan and remianed a lifelong resident of the state.
Thomas served in the United States Air Force from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1970, a chapter of his life he regarded as one of his proudest accomplishments. His service reflected his unwavering dedication to his country and his strong character, qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
In addition to his military service, Thomas had a diverse set of hobbies and interests. He spent countless hours assembling intricate model cars and trucks, showcasing both his creativity and attention to detail. Cooking was another passion of his; it was in the kitchen that he shared his love for food and created lasting memories with family.
He is survived by his beloved brother, James Allen Thompson; his daughter, Samantha (Dustin) Gwin; his grandchildren, Marah (Ryan) Allen and Lucas Mongan; and his great-grandchildren, Mason Allen, Aubree Allen, Paisley Allen, and Mackenzie Allen. Thomas's family will remember him as the family jokester.
Thomas L. Thompson was preceded in death by his father, James Carelton Thompson, and his mother, Peggy Mae (Floyd) Potter.
His humerous nature will be profoundly missed, yet his memory will remain alive in the stories shared and the laughter that continues among those he touched.
