Theodore Smith

Theodore John Smith of Cutlerville, Michigan, Age 65 was reunited with his family in Heaven on June 30, 2024 at 10:10 am after a lengthy struggle with health issues. He was a patient at Butterworth/Corewell Health in Grand Rapids.

Ted was born August 29th, 1958 to Robert and Patricia Smith. He attended Lowell Area Schools and graduated in 1976. He joined the Air Force after graduation. He served four years and received an honorable discharge. He then attended ITT Technical School. His first job was with Remex Corporation as an IT technician. He worked there 17 years. He then worked for FTC& H for a time.

He was a wonderful father to Tina and April and a loving husband to Robin for 40 years. His hugs and back rubs will be greatly missed by many.

Ted is survived by his loving wife Robin, sisters Cathy Ciganek, Julie (Greg) Janeschek, Kathy (Darryl) Onan, brother-in-law, Mike Topping, brother, Steve Smith, father in law, Emerald Dodds, sister-in-law Dianna Jousma, brother-in-law Allan (Barb) Dodds, Sisters in law Reda Meyer, Andrea (Pat) Hopkins. Aunts Liz and Evelyn Bauman, many many loved nieces nephews & cousins.

Ted was preceded in death by his daughters, Tina and April, his parents Patricia Steenwyk and Robert & Iva Smith, his brother Michael Smith, his sister Laury Topping, his mother-in-law Joy Dodds, his brothers-in-law Clayton Meyer & Bob Jousma, and his sister-in-law Ronda Dodds.

There will be a memorial service at Grand Valley Community of Christ at 4790 Jacob SW Grandville, MI. On Saturday July 20, 2024 -Visitation with family at 10am – Service at 11am – followed by a luncheon.
