Terry Wayne Black, known affectionately as Terry to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at the age of 86, in his home with his daughter Karla and son-in-law Joe, at his bedside. Born on September 17, 1938, in Battle Creek, Terry lived a full and vibrant life marked by his passion for the great outdoors and his unwavering sense of humor. Terry spent more than 25 dedicated years working at Fisher Body, where he not only honed his professional skills but also forged lasting friendships and connections. His colleagues remember him as a friendly and approachable individual who brought warmth and laughter to the workplace. An avid fisherman, Terry found solace and joy in the serenity of nature. He frequently embarked on fishing and hunting trips throughout Michigan. Terry's love for the outdoors extended to deer and mushroom hunting, as well as golfing; activities that reflected his appreciation for both the quiet moments and the thrill of sport. Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Black.
Terry is survived by his children, Vicki (Danny) Staton, Karla (Joe) Sayers, Wendy Brott, and stepchildren Sherrie (Ronnie) Fredrick, Randy Reid. He was a proud brother to his siblings, Darlene (Kenneth) Stamm, Janine Stafford, and brother Donald (Jayne) Black, and his fishing buddy Bob Stefic. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
As we bid farewell to Terry Wayne Black, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and the simple pleasures that make each day worthwhile. He will be dearly missed, but the stories of his fishing adventures, his love for the outdoors, and his friendly nature will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
