Terrence (Terry) Leigh Deters , age 56 of Marshall, Michigan, died Wednesday May 6, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 18, 1963 in Grand Forks North Dakota, to Robert Lee ( who preceded him in death) and Ruth LaNore (Cumings) Deters, of Mocksville, North Carolina. Terry was the 2nd born of 7 children. He loved to tease his oldest sister Renee (Andrew Deceased) Potter of Fremont, MI by always referring to her as his "kid" sister. He also leaves behind 3 other brothers, Timothy (Patty) of Claremont, North Carolina, Anthony (Melida) of Mocksville, North Carolina, and his "baby" brother Jason (Tina) of Thomasville, North Carolina, and His "baby" sister Roxanne (Craig) Artis of Battle Creek, MI. Terry also leaves the loves of his life and the apples of his eyes... His daughters, Jazmine Leigh Deters of McMinnville, Tennessee and Deziree LaNore Deters, also of McMinnville. Being an "Air Force Brat", the family moved all over. But finally settled back in Newaygo County after his Dad retired, where He graduated from Newaygo High School in 1982 Terry loved being outdoors and did as much as he could outside. He loved to Camp, fish hunt,, boat and anything else he could think of. He was a true rock hound and had even taken a trip to Arkansas to dig crystals out of the caves there. He was skilled in making jewelry and such from the rocks and minerals that he harvested. He was a skilled "shade tree" mechanic and was an excellent cook. He held many jobs, in many fields in his life and never seemed to lack for a job. His last job was a driver for Aramark, and he did sales of his rocks and mineral business, as well as the Flea Market Circuit. Cremation has taken place and due to the current Covid--19 situation, no memorial is being held at this time. The family hopes to have a memorial at some point in the future. Any memorials can be donated to the family to help cover Terry's final expenses.
