Taylor Thomas Thorp

April 19, 1990 — March 26, 2026

Battle Creek

Taylor Thorp, 35, born April 19, 1990, passed away far too soon on March 26, 2026. Though his time here was short, the impact he had on the people who knew and loved him will never be forgotten.

Taylor was an avid fisherman and was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand and water nearby. Fishing was his passion, and he was known to be very good at it. He also enjoyed golfing and was proud to have made a few hole-in-ones over the years.

Taylor had the biggest heart. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger and was always there when someone needed help, no matter the time or day. He was known for his honesty, his selflessness, and his incredible work ethic, with one of his longtime employers describing him as someone who did the work of two men with no complaint.

Taylor loved his friends and family deeply and cherished the time he spent with them. It seemed that everyone who met him loved him, including children and animals, who were naturally drawn to his kind and gentle spirit.

He is survived by his mother, Jamie Mouliskey; his fathers, Thomas Thorp and Clifford Brainard; his brother, two sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Those who knew Taylor are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

A celebration of Taylor’s life will be held April 19 at 3:00 p.m. at 1200 Harmonia Road. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Guests are asked to bring a dish to pass if possible.

Taylor will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the way he always showed up for the people in his life. Those who loved him take comfort in imagining that he has found a quiet shoreline in heaven, where the fish are always biting and the water is always calm.
