Tammy Starr

Tammy Lee (Mrowca) Starr, age 60, passed away on February 7, 2026 after a short, but fierce and courageous battle, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. Tammy was born December 24, 1965 in Dearborn, Michigan. 

Raised in Michigan, Tammy later made Texas her home, where she spent many meaningful years. Briefly returning to Michigan, Tammy spent her final days surrounded by love as she departed earth. 

Tammy is survived by her children, Derek Burmeister, Amber (Kabir) Ivy, and Tabitha (Eric) Grenell; her sister, Rebecca St. Clair, brother, Brian St. Clair; her significant other of many years, Michael Young; and her loyal dog Zoey, who never left her side.

She was a proud grandmother to 8 wonderful grandchildren. Each brought her immense joy and happiness that filled her heart.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Norma St. Clair and John Mrowca, whom she now joins in peace.

She was a dedicated registered nurse for over 30 years, a calling she carried out with skill, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. She was extremely resilient and was never afraid to start over in new places, making a home and network of friends for herself wherever she went. She cherished her karaoke nights with friends, and enjoyed an active social life. Tammy touched countless lives professionally and personally. Her compassion, determination, and selflessness will be remembered always by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Burial will take place at a later date. Tammy will take her final rest in her family graveyard, Riggs Crossroads Cemetary in Williamson County, Tennessee.
