Stephanie Elizabeth Hoffman (née Theuerkorn)
Stephanie Elizabeth Hoffman, 45, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, after
a courageous battle with an aggressive form of stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer.
Born on March 12, 1979, in Augusta, Georgia, Stephanie was the beloved first-born daughter of
Bill and Annette Theuerkorn. Her family’s journey led them from Georgia to Pontiac, Michigan,
where she welcomed her younger brother, Chad, in 1981, and sister, Megan, in 1985. In 1986,
the Theuerkorn family settled in Haslett, Michigan, where Stephanie spent her formative years,
graduating from Haslett High School in 1997.
Stephanie went on to pursue a degree in Childhood Education from Central Michigan University
in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan—a testament to her deep-seated passion for nurturing and guiding
young minds. It was during her time in Mt. Pleasant that she met Jack Hoffman, with whom she
would share a lifetime of love. The couple married on October 20, 2007, in a beautiful ceremony
in Saginaw, Michigan, before building their life together in Grand Rapids.
Family was the heart of Stephanie’s life. She and Jack welcomed their first son, Lucas James, in
2013, followed closely by Caleb Matthew in 2015. Stephanie embraced her role as a devoted
stay-at-home mother, finding her greatest joy in raising her two sons, creating a home filled with
love and laughter.
Known for her quick wit and deep sense of humor, Stephanie’s warmth, strength and smile
brought comfort and joy to those around her. She treasured life’s simple moments and
celebrated the beauty in everyday experiences.
Stephanie is preceded in death by her mother, Annette Theuerkorn (née Ratcliffe). She is
survived by her loving husband, Jack Hoffman; her sons, Lucas and Caleb; her father, Bill
Theuerkorn; her brother, Chad Theuerkorn, his wife Amanda, and their children, Camden and
Lillian; and her sister, Megan Jordan, her husband Ben, and their children, Cohen, Hunter, and
Harlyn.
Stephanie’s legacy of love, humor, and devotion to family will be cherished by all who knew her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone she touched.
