Shelly Marie Rager, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on March 12, 1969, Shelly lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for those around her.
Shelly dedicated her career to caring for others as a home health aide—a quiet but powerful testament to her character. With tenderness, patience, and a gentle presence, she brought dignity and comfort to countless individuals during some of their most vulnerable moments. Her work reflected the depth of her empathy and the generosity of her spirit.
Her vibrant personality shone brightest in the company of her family. Family time was her greatest joy—sharing laughter, stories, and simple moments that now live on as cherished memories. Her heart was her greatest gift, felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Grounded by a strong belief in Jesus, Shelly carried her faith with her through every season of life. It provided her with strength, compassion, and hope, guiding the way she cared for others and the warmth she brought into the world. She found purpose in service, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear, embodying love in both word and action.
Shelly is survived by her mother, Sandra Bunting, and her stepfather, Ed Kropf. She leaves behind her daughters, Stacy Rager and Chelsea Valdez, as well as her siblings: Kevin Bunting, Ronnie Bunting, Martin Kropf, and her sister-in-law, Marstie Bunting. As a cherished grandmother, she will be dearly missed by Rinoa Shavalier, Alexander Shavalier, Elly Clark, and Bryson Clark. Shelly’s role as an aunt brought joy to her life, and she is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Ryan Bunting, Samantha Morris, Brooke Staple, Alyssa Bunting, Ethan Bunting, Caiden Bunting, and Leo Kropf.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Shelly’s spirit will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
