Shelley K. Lee, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025 in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on March 29th, 1955 in the same city she would call home throughout her life.
Shelley graduated from Creston High School and also studied at KVCC. She was a cherished mother, sister, and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her family was the centerpiece of her life and she is survived by her devoted son, Ron Schilling; her loving children Keith (Brandi) McClurken and Shaena McClurken, her caring sister Deborah Barr; and her adored grandchildren Natalie, Jenna, Katelyn, MaKenzie, Hannah, Abigail, Olivia, Kelsey, Kaylee, Alayna, Brian and Ensley. Shelley was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ed and Anne Barr.
Those who knew Shelley will remember her for the joy she found in the simplest pleasures. Her best friend since third grade, Karen, was a constant companion in her life's journey. Together, they shared countless moments of laughter and support. Shelley's home was a reflection of her passions, adorned with an exquisite collection of porcelain butterflies and owls that brought her immense joy. She found relaxation and creativity in diamond art, a hobby that showcased her meticulous and artistic nature.
Shelley's love for her grandkids knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her four-legged companion, Bandit, was a source of unconditional love and comfort, often by her side as she indulged in her favorite pastime of watching series of shows on TV.
The words that best describe Shelley-thoughtful, spirited, kind-only scratched the surface of her profound impact on the lives of those around her.
Shelley K. Lee's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, one filled with love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who will continue to honor memory by embracing the kindness and spirit she shared so generously.
