In Loving Memory of Scott A. Walsh
Scott A. Walsh, 61, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away at home suddenly on November 10, 2025.
Scott was born September 27, 1964, in Bay City, Michigan to Joseph and Patricia Louise Walsh (Byrne). He graduated from Bay City Handy High School and from Central Michigan University, earning degrees in both Accounting and Finance. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Interurban Transit Authority (The Rapid), where his commitment to public service and his colleagues left a lasting impact.
Outside of work, Scott found his greatest joy in cheering on his son, Aden, from the bleachers—whether it was a little league game or travel ball, he never missed a pitch. He also enjoyed traveling where he visited many zoos and aquariums and liked to play golf in his spare time.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Scott was an unwavering Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. He enjoyed going to Tiger games with his son and dad. He also participated in a fantasy baseball league with friends, a pastime that combined his love of sports with camaraderie and fun. He gave generously of his time, volunteering at the local zoo and supporting causes close to his heart.
Scott is survived by his son, Aden Walsh, his mother, Patricia (Ron) Marx, his brother-in-law Brian McGrath and his nephews Travis, Brendan and Brian McGrath. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Walsh and his sister, Kristine McGrath.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
