Scott Nehmer

Age 61, peacefully passed away at Kairos Dwelling Home, hospice care on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Scott, known to everyone as "Pudge", was born on August 29,1961 in Elkhart Indiana. Pudge was a free spirit with a great sense of humor, he was always laughing and joking with everyone and had a smile on his face.

Pudge enlisted in the United State Marine Corps on May 29, 1981, where he was a Motor Vehicle Operator after completing his 4-week course. He earned a Medal for Good Conduct and Rifle Marksman Badge. On May 28, 1985, he separated from the Marines and transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve where he spent the next 2 years. On May 28, 1987 Pudge received his Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

Pudge enjoyed Hunting, fishing, camping, playing horseshoes, Nascar, playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

Pudge is survived by his daughter, Desiree Christman of Grand Junction, Michigan; his Mother Barbara Jones (Kissel) of Rockholds, Kentucky; 1 brother Dennis (Maria) Nehmer of Monee, Illinois; 1 sister Tonya (Mark) Bakhuyzen of Kalamazoo, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Pudge was preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Sonke) Nehmer, his father David Lee Thomson, 1 brother Mark Alan Nehmer and grandparents.
