Scott E. Rothley, 65, died Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home peacefully with family by his side. He was born May 16, 1959, in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Lawrence and Shirley (Czinder) Rothley.


He graduated in 1977 from Creston High School in Grand Rapids, MI. He was a loyal worker at the Grand Rapids Press during his 41 years of employment until his retirement. As a retiree, he continued to work as a delivery driver for Kennicott Bros. Floral in Walker, MI.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Shirley (Czinder) Rothley, and brother-in-law, Brian Green. Scott is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carrie (Werre) Rothley. Along with his siblings, Rod (Mary), Craig (Carol), Vicki, and Randy (Robin). He is further survived by his five children, to which he was a devoted and loving father, Sarah (Mike) Prill, Maria (Len) Austin, Stacey (Scott) Slimmen, Haleigh (Jake) Skrobot, and Jarrod (Logan Deater) Rothley; along with twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved golden-retrievers, Brezlin and Izzy, and grand-pets, Diesel, Luna, Nala, Obie, Reggie, and Scout.


Scott’s most significant quality was his big heart, to which he channeled into his many passions and hobbies. Of these, he particularly enjoyed listening to rock music, bird watching, and caring for animals. His other primary joy included caring for his flowers, chiefly, his many orchids. More than anything, he was happiest when spending time with his family. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held with details forthcoming.
