Ryan Fausey

July 7, 1972 — April 18, 2022

Ryan “Hawk” Fausey passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Ryan was a loving and devoted son, brother, cousin, nephew, husband, father, uncle and friend. If you were a friend of Ryan, you became family. He made those around him feel instantly connected and special…as many are saying, he was one of a kind.

Ryan is the oldest child of Del and Jill (Robertson) Fausey and the fun-loving older brother to his sisters, Dawn (Adrian) Lowrance and Lisa Fausey. Ryan grew up in Battle Creek Michigan with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends always nearby. He was proud to be in the St. Philip Catholic Central Class of 1990. While at St. Philip, Ryan played football, basketball and baseball. He would often tell people he was the first person to make a 3 pointer in school history. He also liked to be known for his 0 errors at second base. While in high school he met his future wife, Jill (Hufnagel) Fausey and her family, Jim and Carol (Zidarevich) Hufnagel, Brad, and Dawn (Jason) Bledsoe.
Ryan continued school at Western Michigan University and worked at Damon's for most of his college career. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Business. His focus was sales and many will say this was his calling.
Ryan moved to Traverse City, MI after college and worked for Van Eerden. After a year of condo living and beach life he moved to Grand Rapids, where he has resided for 24 years.

Ryan became engaged to his wife Jill on April 8, 1999 in Cancun, Mexico after dating in high school and then again in college. They married on November 20, 1999. Together they enjoyed being with family, traveling, hosting gatherings (including infamous wine and cheese parties) and raising their four children Brooke, Brady, Ben and Bryce.
Ryan worked for Abbott, Takeda, MedPointe and most recently Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals. He made many dear friends along his professional journey. He was known for his spark, humor and kindness. He was the first person to pump up his team and reach out to others. Many friends would get a daily check in or retirement advice from Ryan.
Ryan was an avid sports fan. He enthusiastically cheered on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines and Forest Hills Eastern Hawks. He loved watching his own children play sports and was at every game. He is known for wearing team gear and being the loudest cheerleader in the crowd.

Per Ryan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration will occur at a later date. In lieu of food or flowers, please consider honoring Ryan by donating to Kids Food Basket, Junior Diabetes Foundation, Hospice of West Michigan or to his children.
