Roy Lee Brisbin, born on November 20, 1972, in Lakeview, Michigan, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A man whose life was deeply intertwined with the joys of nature, animals, and family, Roy will be remembered for his kind heart, big bear hugs, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.

From an early age, Roy’s connection to the outdoors and animals was evident. He worked on many dairy farms in various capacities throughout his life, a testament to his love of working with animals and being outside. His days were often spent surrounded by the simple and honest work he cherished. He was also known for his great laugh and willingness to help anyone in need, always rooting for the underdog and bringing a sense of warmth and support to those fortunate enough to know him.

Roy attended Lakeview High School, where he played football, demonstrating his team spirit and commitment from a young age. Beyond his work and school, he held a passion for music of all kinds, ranging from metal and rap to old-school country. His love of music was a true reflection of his diverse tastes and vibrant personality.

He was a man who savored the quieter moments of life—whether that meant fishing by calm waters, spending a night by the bonfire under the stars, or mastering the grill with his unmistakable skill. These activities were not just hobbies but ways through which Roy connected with friends and family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and joy.

Roy is survived by his loving family: his daughter Sarah (Jordan) Chapin, his sons Hunter Brisbin and Christian (Chloe) Brisbin, and his daughter Holly (Nick) Bellinger. He will be deeply missed by his girlfriend and love of his life, Joy Hale. His step-father, Keith Wiseley, and his siblings, Robin Price, Roxanne Chesebro, and Rick Brisbin—along with cousins Bonnie Kelley, James Kelley, Teresa Kelley, and Calvin Kelley, and grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and faithful animals—all carry forward his memory. They will forever cherish his empathetic nature.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Wiseley, and father, Roy Brisbin. He also mourned the loss of beloved relatives, including his grandfather Albert Kelley and grandmother Bonnie Kelley, his sister Renee Patterson, and several aunts and uncles: Alberta Kelley, James Kelley, Harriet Kelley, Clyde Kelley, and Carolyn Kelley.

Roy Brisbin’s life was marked by a devotion to faith, a passion for nature, and a readiness to offer kindness and support to anyone in his path. His memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew his great laugh, were touched by his kindness, and experienced his enduring spirit. As we remember Roy, we hold dear the moments shared and the legacy of a man who lived sincerely and cared deeply.
