Rosemary Lynn Thurman

Rosemary “Rosie” Lynn (Jacox) Thurman, 64, of Battle Creek, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with family by her side.

Rosie was born on June 13, 1961, the daughter of Robert L. Jacox and Nellie I (Brenner) Gooch.

“Earth Angel” is how we can describe Rosie, she was an extremely loving and caring person that would help anyone if she could. With her warm soul, heart so full of love, and caring spirit you couldn’t help but love her from the first time you met her.

Rosie grew up in Battle Creek, attended Harper Creek Schools, and stayed connected with her classmates over the years.

When Rosie was young, she had a drive to help others, and this desire became her legacy. While in her early twenties she lived in California; after a few years, she returned to Michigan and that is when she put her drive to help others in motion by becoming a CNA, working in nursing homes and being a Home Health Aide.

On December 23, 2015, Rosie married her longtime friend and love of her life, John D Thurman, in Battle Creek, MI.

Rosie loved spending time with family and friends, and her fur baby. She enjoyed participating in the local pool league, watching the cranes in her yard, dining out, trips to the casino, shopping, and going fishing.

Rosie is survived by brother: Jesse Jacox; sisters: Joy Hammer and Fawn (Roger) Bartzen; daughters: Della (Will) Simmons and Jami (Tracy) Hale; son: John E Thurman; grandkids: Will, Kody, Jalen, Christopher, Crystal, Justin, Cheryl, and Joshua; 7 great-grandkids, many nieces and nephews; companion: Robert Hosack; and fur baby: Sassy.

Preceding her in death are her husband; both parents; sister: Tonia Teske; son: Jerry Thurman; best friend: Susie Hosack; and fur baby: Snoopy.

An interment service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 3:00pm.

Celebration of Life dinner will be held immediately following @ P.N.A, 15 Clair St, Battle Creek, MI.
