Rose Marie Wilbur, affectionately known as "Posie," passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 68 in Coldwater. Born on May 23, 1957, in Hancock, she illuminated the lives of those around her with her vibrant personality and passion for storytelling.
Posie was a devoted family member who cherished spending time with Gina, her kids, and her beloved grandkids. She found immense joy in spoiling them on special occasions such as their birthdays, Easter, and Christmas, but her love for them extended far beyond those celebrations—she made it a point to spoil them every day. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to call her family.
A creative soul, Posie delighted in various hobbies, including cross-stitching, where she lovingly crafted quilts for her cherished ones. She enjoyed engaging her mind with word search puzzles and found joy in the company of her parakeets, Blue Girl and Snowy. Music played an integral role in her life, as she loved dancing, singing, and listening to her favorite tunes. Furthermore, her affinity for technology was evident in her enjoyment of playing on her iPad and going out to eat with family and friends. A favorite destination was Shipshewana, where she appreciated the warmth of community and the beauty of her surroundings.
Posie had a remarkable ability to connect with people, visiting often and fostering deep friendships, including a special bond with her dear friend, Mary Daniels. She always looked forward to her cousin Fred Secula's phone calls, which brought her joy and comfort during her days.
She is survived by her partner's daughter, Gina Martin, as well as her children—Eric Mobley, Yifan Wang, and Taylor Martin—who, along with her grandkids, Sophia Martin, Ellie Hicks, and Edwin Mayer, will carry her memory forward in their hearts.
Posie's legacy will live on through the laughter, love, and kindness she brought to this world. Her parents, George and Miriam Secula, her husband Ken Wilbur, and her partners, Charlie Jasper and Norman “Mike” Rumsey, preceded her in death, and they welcome her with open arms. As we remember Rose Marie Wilbur, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, compassion, and joyful memories that will endure through time.
