A life of joy, laughter, and hospitality was lived to the fullest by Ron Reynolds, born December 10th, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI. As a vocational teacher, his heart was for others to discover and learn how to live life with joy and excitement about its many opportunities. He was an avid fan of Clive Cussler's books, any films from George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, and relaxing out in the sun. Ron had a sense of humor that could break through any defenses, and everyone that spent time with him knew immediately that they were truly loved by him.

He served his country in the United States Air Force as a Military Police during the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his time in the service he married his wife Diane Reynolds (d. 2021) and pursued a career in special education at Muskegon Heights High School, where he retired. In his retirement he worked for Walt Disney World and Michigan's Adventure, two of his favorite places in the world.

Together Ron and Diane had countless "kids' in their home throughout the years. From biological, to adoptive, to foster, to anyone in between. Their home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. He loved hearing about people's lives and sharing some of his own stories with them.

Adventure and exploration, alongside his family, was always important to Ron. From trips to theme parks, camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness, to watching disaster movies, Ron loved to experience life and the stories found within it. The joy he found in life was borne out of wonder, much like a child's and it was ultimately this childlike joy and faith in Jesus that brought out so much good in his heart displayed towards others. This kind and welcoming heart is now embodied by so many of the people he touched and serves as a special legacy that will continue to impact the generations he left behind.

Ron is survived by his father-in-law John Scheltema, brother Rich (Mary Lou) Reynolds, his children Sandra (Andy) Tucker, Betsy McCaffity, Tim Reynolds, Matt Reynolds, his grandchildren Elijah (Kiana) Tucker, Isabelle (Austin) Hayes, Shelby (Jonah) Weiss, Shanna Tucker, Emily Tucker, Simon McCaffity, Lydia Reynolds, Johnathan Reynolds, Moriah Reynolds, 2 great grand children Deacon Tucker, Laura Jane Hayes. His niece Krista, nephew Rob and many great nieces and nephews and so many others he considered his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Hazel Reynolds, his beloved wife Diane Reynolds and his nephew Randy Reynolds.
