Roman Sobie Jr.

Roman Sobie Jr., born on October 5, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Roman and Sally Sobie. He peacefully departed this world on March 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Roman dedicated many years of his life to his craft as a welder in the Grand Rapids area.  A proud alumnus of Comstock Park High School and later, Central Michigan University.

Roman was preceded in death by his son, John, mother, Sally, and sister, Carol Olson, along with brothers Mark Sobie, David Sobie, brother-in-law David Jones, and brother David Campbell.

He is survived by his father, Roman J. Sobie Sr., loving wife, Lorri, children, JoAnn, Jamie, Katrina, Bobby, and Breann; many adored grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings—Steven (Candy) Sobie, Christine Jones, Michael (Peni) Sobie, Robert (Jill) Sobie, and sister-in-law Jennifer Sobie, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.

A mass will be held for Roman on March 11, 2026, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 628 Diamond Ave NE at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior to mass. Fr. Danny Orris, celebrant.

Roman Sobie Jr. will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
