Rodney Sickels

June 3, 1962 — June 17, 2024

Rodney Lee “Rod” Sickels, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on June

17th, 2024 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born in Coldwater, Michigan on June 3rd, 1962, he

was 62 years old.

He was a 1980 graduate of Coldwater High School.

Rodney, from a young age, found joy in racing motocross and fishing. As he grew older,

Rodney, a man of many talents, became an excellent Carpenter, making cabinets and

installing framework for those he held dear. He also dedicated many years working at

Midwest Foundry and Putnam as a metal machinist. He was well known for being kind,

fun, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. When it came to adventures,

he had that smile where you knew he was about to get into some trouble. He was the

life of the party, always playing light-hearted pranks and performing daredevil antics. He

will be missed greatly.

In 1995 at a friend’s wedding, he met Michele (Hall) Harcourt and together they had one

child: Paige Marie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sickels and Ila (Clearwater) Sickels;

uncles Durwood Sickels and Wayne Clearwater; aunts Dorris (Sickels) Smith and

Rowena (Clearwater) Forker; nephews Dale Smith, Levi Clearwater, James Clearwater,

and half-aunts Donna (Sickels) First and Patricia (Sickels) Hanna.

He is survived by his one child, Paige Harcourt of Palm Harbor, FL; one brother, Jeff

Sickels of Coldwater, MI; three nephews, Keith Sickels of Melbourne, FL, Brian Sickels

of Palm Bay, FL, Scott Sickels of Indianapolis, IN; one uncle, Leon Clearwater of

Peoria, Illinois, and many, many cousins.

The family would like to thank Mark and Laurie Budd, Gary and Heidi Weis, and all of

his close friends for helping Rodney in his times of need.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Branch County 4-H Cabin on September

28th, 2024 from 1:00-5:00pm. 262 South Sprague St, Coldwater, MI 49036.
