Rodney Jack Hubbard Sr, born on August 16, 1948, in Lakeview, MI, passed away on September 15, 2025, at Butterworth Hospital due to health complications. He graduated from Tri County High School and served in the Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a dedicated Bee Keeper for over 50 years.

Rodney was married for 53 years to his beloved wife, Betty Hubbard. He is survived by his son, Rodney Hubbard Jr. with his fiancée, Sara VanAlstine; his son, Travis Hubbard; and his daughter, Mandy Thompson with her husband Nate Thompson. He adored his grandchildren: Corey Hadrich, Rodney Hubbard III with his wife Stephanie Hubbard, Christopher Hubbard, Zackery Hubbard, Gary VanAlstine, Kinsley Hubbard, Paige Hubbard, Addison Bouwkamp, Harley Hubbard-Standhardt, Alanha Thompson, Cole Thompson, and 6 great grandchildren. 

Rodney was known for his caring and kind personality. He loved Jesus and spent his days taking care of his bees and working at the honey house. He enjoyed being out in the woods, cutting and splitting wood, and cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Leo Hubbard, and his mother, Helen Hubbard. His surviving siblings are his brother Richard Hubbard,  sister Mary Dillon,  and sister Linda Jenkins.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him!

Services for Rodney will be held on Saturday September 27th 2025 at Emanuel Baptist Church 16028 Isabella Rd Coral, MI 49322. 

Visitation at 11am. Memorial service at noon with a luncheon following.
