Obituary

Robin Lynn Field, 67, of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, on October 1, 2026, exactly one year after the passing of her beloved husband, Jon Field.

Robin was an old hippie soul, with a free spirit and an open heart. She was warm, accepting, and always ready to love people exactly as they were. Above all else, Robin was devoted to her family and friends. She was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful friend to many. Even when her patience was tested, you knew she was always in your corner, no matter what.

For fun, she enjoyed thrifting, ghost-hunting shows, and she loved to bake. Banana bread, pumpkin pie, and the smell of cookies baking were recurrent themes in her home. She always had a plate of cookies waiting for family when they visited, and she wasn’t happy until your belly was filled with them. Her door was always open, and her home was a warm refuge for anyone who needed it.

She loved music, as any true hippie should. The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, the Jackson 5, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, and CCR were just a few of her favorites. To think of her, just play the Stones and light some incense (preferably patchouli). We promise she will be there in spirit.

Robin was a student of life, always curious, wanting to know more and better understand the perspective of others. Her working years were spent in service industries, where she genuinely enjoyed caring for others. She touched so many lives, leaving a mark on each one, whether it was serving a stranger a cup of coffee or holding a loved one close through a personal crisis. The world is definitely a better place because she was in it.

Robin is survived by her children, Jessica Sigourney and Adam Sigourney, both of Eaton Rapids, MI, and her grandchildren, Brianne Luke, Ethan Leonard, Xandra Leonard, Leston Hewlett, and Liah Sigourney. Robin is also survived by her siblings, Debbie Waugh (her favorite sister), Angel Woodyard (her true favorite sister; don’t tell Debbie), Wayne Bob Moist, Karen Boyer King, Charlene Thaxton, and her sister-in-law, Connie Moist. She was loved by many, many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Field of Eaton Rapids; her mother, Genevieve Faggion Moist; her father, Robert Moist; her brother, Jerry Moist; stepson Jason Field; and beloved niece Melisa Nygard.

A celebration of life will be held for Robin at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, which offers mental health support and suicide risk support for our soldiers and veterans. You could also buy a homeless vet a meal and listen to their story, or simply have a pot of coffee and a plate of cookies waiting for your loved ones the next time they visit. Hug your people and tell them you love them every day. They won’t be on this earth forever.
