Robert Russell

Robert "Bob" Worden Russell of Grand Rapids passed away Thursday December 28, 2023 after a five-and-a-half-year battle with lung cancer. Bob was born in Lansing and spent his youth outdoors enjoying local parks and playing with friends. He was a graduate of Lansing Sexton High School. During the Vietnam war, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served proudly for four years. After his service he spent a lot of his time showing dogs. This is where he met the love of his life, Luann. They married and had three children. Once they were born, all of his time was spent with them. With any free time, he also enjoyed playing golf and watching the Spartans, Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and Red Wings. He was a loyal employee, eventually working in the insurance industry at the same company for 38 years. He is survived by Luann Russell (wife), Mary Brun (sister), Jordan Brun (bother-in-law), Janet DeWeese (mother-in-law), children Jeremy (Hilary) Wells, Rachel (Matt) Mieras, Sarah (Donovan) Gardner, Jacob (Rachael) Russell, grandchildren Abbie Mieras, Zoey Gardner, Catherine Mieras, Olivia Wells, Robert Gardner, Norah Russell, and Otis Russell, and all the children under his guidance throughout the years. He was proceeded in death by Eva Russell (mother), Oscar Russell (father), and Kris Muth (sister)
