Randolph Wilson Dunn, age 69, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Friday, November 29, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Randy was born May 10, 1955, to Archie and Bernadine (Wilson) Dunn. He grew up in Cedarville, MI, and it remained home for him his whole life. Randy was easy-going, friendly, and had a wealth of knowledge. He had his own way of doing things and was always willing to help others. He was a great example to live by and was quite the character. Family, Friends, and Faith meant everything to him. Randy graduated from Cedarville High School in 1973 and later became a certified welder through Northern Michigan University. He evolved into a skilled metal artist and enjoyed demonstrating his trade. He even took apprentices in iron work. Randy built his own home and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. In 2017, he neared death with Congestive Heart Failure, but his left ventricular assist device (LVAD) heart pump kept him with us for another very special 7-1/2 years, during which time his two youngest children chose their careers and their spouses and his oldest daughter married her fiancé. Randy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kimberly (Conn), their children, Grace (Patrick) Minarik, of Cedarville, and Silas (Danielle) Dunn, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, his daughter, Madeline (Mike) Johnson, of Sand Lake, granddaughters Vivian Minarik and Alexis Johnson, and great-grandson, Jazias 'JJ' Johnson. He is also survived by his brothers, Arthur (Sandra) and Dale (Lisa), and his sister, Ferne (Jim) Sherlund, a niece, and four nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Union Church in Cedarville on Thursday, December 12, at 11:30 a.m., with a brief visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. A meal will follow the service.
