Phillip Jon Kuikstra, age 67, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Fremont, Michigan.
Phillip was born on March 13, 1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Roger and Shirley Kuikstra. He lived a life defined by hard work, determination, and an unwavering willingness to help others. He had a larger-than-life personality, a wealth of knowledge, and a heart big enough to make room for anyone in need.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Shirley Kuikstra; his sisters, Judith Ferguson and Barbara Kuikstra; his brothers, Dan Kuikstra and Michael Devroy; his first wife, Carrie Kuikstra; and his son, Andy Stuns.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Kuikstra; his daughters, Venessa (Rodney) Botma and Jessica Kuikstra; his son, Dylan Stuns; his brothers, Roger Kuikstra and Don Ferguson; his cherished grandchildren, Nathan (Ebennie) Peterlein, Alyssa Watkins, Dylan Reed, Kylie Acuna, Destiny Myers, and Teagan Stuns; his beloved great-grandchildren, Simon and ElsieLynn Peterlein; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Phillip enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, and spending time on his speedboat on Hardy Pond. Self-employed throughout much of his life, he successfully owned and operated two towing companies. He was truly a man of all trades who could tackle just about any task placed before him. Hardworking and determined, Phillip accomplished whatever he set his mind to.
More than anything, Phillip will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and willingness to share advice with those who sought it. He had a gift for fixing things—whether it was a car in the garage or offering guidance to a loved one facing life's challenges. His knowledge, strength, and caring nature touched many lives and will continue to live on through the stories and memories shared by family and friends.
Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved Phillip take comfort in knowing that his legacy of perseverance, kindness, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life honoring Phillip's life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family once arrangements have been finalized.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
