Patricia Jo Whynott

Patricia "Patti" Whynott passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 62. She was born on March 24, 1963, in Kentwood, Michigan.

A proud graduate of East Kentwood High School in 1981, Patti's remarkable talent as a runner earned her All-State honors for cross country during her senior season. She achieved a personal record of 17:33 in the 5k. She ran at the Junior Olympics, where she placed 5th in the nation.

Patti's personality was full of energy, creativity, and empathy. She made sure the others around her were taken care of without asking for anything in return. She kept a bowl of candy outside of her apartment for residents and guests to enjoy. In her fridge door was her collection of "sweet treats," which included a large array of sweet, sour, and savory candies.

Anyone who knew Patti would know of her intense love for turtles. She always wore a turtle necklace around her neck, gifted to her by her children. She collected an array of different turtle figures and other trinkets that decorated her home. She loved houseplants, gardening/landscaping, and being outdoors. She would often be found outside going for long walks, weeding a garden, or planting something new for everyone to enjoy. 

She is survived by her children, Hubert and Allissa, her brother, Edward, and her three sisters, Mary, Jorie, and Cindy. Patti's parents, Dorothy and Edward, and her sister Chrisanne, have all gone before her.
