Patricia Farrer

Patricia J. Farrer, 72, of Portage, passed away on March 9, 2023, at Ascension Borgess Hospital with her family at her side.

Pat was born on August 2, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter of Donald and Jeanette (Copley) DeYoung. She was a 1968 graduate of Loy Norrix High School. On November 9, 1978, Pat married John Farrer in Nashville, TN. She spent over 20 years working in service in Las Vegas, NV until her retirement in 2010.

Pat enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking, reading, music, camping, and Hallmark movies. She loved spending time with family and her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her husband of 44 years, John; her sons, Christopher (Michelle) DeYoung of Kalamazoo, Mi and Aindriú (Michele) Mausten of Tacoma, Wa; her daughter, Erinn Routh of Allegan, MI; two step-sons, Douglas (Jennifer) Farrer of St. Joseph, Mi and Robert (Carolyn) Farrer of Converse, Tx; eight grandchildren, Kristin (Ma’Quan) Goodjoint, Xander Routh, Samantha Dean, Peyton Routh, Aodhán Mausten, Eirík Mausten, Kolby Novotny, and Dakota Novotny; two great-grandsons; one brother, Michael (Beth) DeYoung of Kalamazoo; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John DeYoung, her sister Marilyn Edgerton, and twin granddaughters, Gwyniviere & Onora Mausten.

The family would like to send their greatest thanks to the staff of Ascension Borgess Hospital & Bronson Methodist Hospital, as well as Life Care Center of Plainwell, for their dedication to the care of their loved one.
