Pamela Jane Eerdmans, age 72 went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, January 19, 2026.
Our beloved mother, was filled with the Holy Spirit and was a fine steward of all God gave her. She loved sacrificially, cherished family deeply, and carried a fiery compassion that showed itself through service, prayer, and generosity. She lived her life thinking of others before herself, and considered her children a gift from God. She was faithful in marriage, and twice put herself through college. Even in the hardest times, she always made sure there was food on the table, and a place to call home. She would attribute this to Christ Jesus providing a way.
Pamela was a woman of many talents, always helping others and looking to improve everything she could. She loved singing, specifically high soprano, creating art, teaching, serving and man did she love her Volvo's. When she was in high school, she was involved in the student council and started a petition to change the dress code. It was passed, and students could officially wear jeans to school. She was also the first graduating class of East Kentwood High School. Later in life she worked as a graphic artist, business owner, teacher, medical assistant, bus driver for special-needs children, and was a friendly face at Harvest Health. She was also the family party planner - always cooking, baking, hosting, and crafting with her grandchildren.
While we grieve her absence, we also rejoice in knowing the Lord has called her home, completely healed, and at perfect peace with Jesus. She taught us to stay steadfast in His word and pray without ceasing.
Her favorite verses remain a comfort to all who loved her:
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:2-3
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Chamberlain Latta, and is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Latta; her children Jason Daniel III (Hope) Stephens, Adam (Rebecca) Eerdmans, Zachary Eerdmans, and Madalyn (Jordan) Anderson; grandchildren Jason Daniel IV, Jerratt (Rachel), Jazmine, Jensen, Tristian (Megan), Malachi, Owen, Ella, Naomi, Levi, Louis, Isla, Chamberlain, Nellie; great-grandchildren Amelia, Violet; siblings Christine (Raleigh) Apol, Gin (Mike) Welch, Robert Chamberlain II (Kathy) Latta, Mary Latta, and Rick Latta; along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
