Nancy Laughhunn

April 20, 1937 — February 8, 2024

Nancy Lee Laughhunn was born April 20, 1937, in Troy, Michigan, to the union of Edsel and Violet Budry. She was the oldest of five children.

While working as a waitress, she met Michael (Mickey) Laughhunn. Soon after, on December 11, 1956, they were married. Nancy was his “Sweetheart”. From that union, four children were born: one son Brian Noel, and three girls, Cheryl Lynn, Elizabeth Ann, and Rebecca Lynn.

Nancy enjoyed many things such as gardening, swimming, and spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was share with others the beautiful message found in the bible. Michael & Nancy started their own study of the bible in late 1958. On April 4, 1960, they were both baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Nancy’s faith was her most prized possession and she was thrilled that her husband and children shared her faith.

Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Lynn, her brothers Bruce and Robert, and her Parents Edsel and Violet Budry. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Michael Laughhunn, her loving children, Brian (Sherry), Elizabeth (Tony), and Rebecca (Darnell); her loving grandchildren, Eric, Jade, Jessica, Taylor (Tim), Alexis, Shawna (Jacob), Shelby (Isaac), and her siblings John (Carol) and Debbie along with nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law’s. Nancy had many close friends that were like family, the list would be too long to name all but she cherished them, and many she referred to as “son” or “daughter”, they too will cherish her memory.

On February 8, 2024, she went to sleep in death. Nancy awaits the time spoken about at Job 14 verses 14 and 15 that says, “If a man (woman) dies, can he live again?...You will call, and I will answer you”. Until the moment she passed, Nancy was confident that Jehovah will call her name, and she will wake up again in his due time.

Nancy did not desire a memorial but rather asked that family and friends remember the good times they enjoyed and look forward to the good times they will enjoy in the future. The one thing she would want to share is her faith, if you would like to learn more about it, please visit www.jw.org. We thank everyone for the calls, visits, and cards they have provided the family during these difficult times.
