Nancy R. Huggett

d. August 8, 2025

Richland

Nancy Rose Fiandt Huggett, 87, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her family at Beacon Pointe in Richland, Michigan.

Born in September 1937 in Battle Creek, Nancy graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central High School. She married Gaylord Huggett of Battle Creek, and together they raised nine children in the Gull Lake and Battle Creek area. Both were active members of St. Jerome and St. Philip Church, building a family life rooted in faith and community.

Nancy had a joy of cooking and baking. In addition to feeding her large family, she also prepared meals for St. Philip students during the 1980s and early 1990s. An accomplished seamstress, she made clothes for her children and later created extraordinary quilts that became cherished family heirlooms. Nancy later enjoyed a career in banking with Great Lakes Bank.

Known for her sharp wit and unforgettable laugh, Nancy enjoyed a spirited card game, a good book, and a full glass of wine - often joking that “water rusts my pipes.” She is survived by her 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure her warmth, humor, and life lessons.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Church in Richland, Michigan, on August 25th at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centrica Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
