On a warm, summer day ~ June 14, 1958, a baby girl was born. She came into the world in Flint, Michigan. The family moved around, and eventually settled in Sturgis, Michigan. Nancy had two older brothers, Gene R. Currier, Terry (Lucinda) Currier, and an older sister, Lou Ann (Pete) Kamphues. As Nancy grew, one more sister came along. Diana “DeeDee” Butler.
The years of her childhood sped swiftly by. In an almost seeming flash, Nancy graduated from high school in 1977. The days, weeks, and even months went by quickly. Ahhh … but then there was an amazing pause. Nancy met the love of her life, Edward Greve.
Ed & Nancy married on a warm September day, in 1984. As time continued to float by, Ed and Nancy felt an unmistakable void in their family. As Divine Appointments happen, through prayers, and absolute miracles, they were able to adopt an infant baby girl, Heather Suzanne. They loved raising her and considered her to be a true gift from God.
In later years, the storybook changed for Ed and Nancy, but Nancy always held a special place in her heart for her “Edward”.
Heather grew up and married Dean Lee. Nancy was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Alistair James, and Crystal Rose. They were a bright spot in her life, to be sure.
Nancy loved working with her hands, whether it was cooking, sewing, or crocheting, and she couldn’t be happier than when she was sitting down, and playing the keys of a piano ~ at home or at church. She also loved animals passionately ~ especially her puppies.
Nancy also became a Licensed Practical Nurse, and worked in the field for several years.
Nancy had some health issues, including diabetes and kidney disease. The illnesses became debilitating, and Nancy could no longer do the things she loved. Life can be trying, especially in those circumstances, and it certainly was for Nancy ~ when the diseases took their toll on her. Her health began to deteriorate more rapidly over the past year. It was a difficult path, no doubt.
Then on September 2, 2026, Nancy Jean Currier, breathed her last, with family by her side. Nancy is now resting peacefully. No more pain, no more dialysis. She is asleep, waiting in the grave for Resurrection Morning. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, and they will hold the precious memories of her close ~ ever so close, to their hearts.
