Michael Todd Nelson passed away on July 1st , 2024 at The Comfort Home in Reed City with family by his side. He was 55
Michael was born on April 15th, 1969 to Richard and Judy Nelson. He attended Reed City public school and graduated in 1988. Mike lived in the Reed City area his whole life. Mike was a logger for 35 years and in school was given the nickname "wood king." He could look at any tree and tell you what species it was.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his vehicles or equipment. But what he enjoyed most was calling his "sandbox buddies." Many stories Mike told were with Cliff Youngs or Tim Wirth.
Surviving him in death are his parents Richard and Judy Nelson, brother Gordy (Nicole) Nelson of Henderson Louisiana, Jill (Denny) Halladay of Ashton, Daughter Sara Nelson of Reed City, granddaughter Madisyn and nephew Trevor Halladay also of Ashton.
Proceeding him in death are paternal grandparents Alvin and Mary (Wirth) Nelson , Maternal grandparents Erwin and Beulah (cook) Gillette. Uncle Kenny Nelson and Aunt Joanne Mitchell.
Michael will be cremated and laid to rest at Ashton cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
