Michael James Pienta, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, August 20th, at his business, Plainfield Trading Center.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Dave Sr. and Karen Pienta, Michael was a vibrant presence in the West Michigan community. He will be fondly remembered not only for his entrepreneurial spirit but also for his competitive edge and zest for life. Whether it was bowling a near-perfect 299 game, dominating cornhole with four-bag throws, golfing, playing baseball, mastering Texas Hold’em, or claiming the title of Mario Kart champion, Michael brought energy and joy to everything he did. A passionate fan of the Michigan Wolverines, he wore his team colors with pride. He was a proud member of the Quad City Cornhole community, where he was known for both his skill and camaraderie. Michael had a deep love and appreciation for all the cornhole groups he played with over the years. In fact, mentored young professionals grow their skills, in which one became a world champion.
Above all, Michael was known for his deep love for his children; Courtney, Karly, and Ryan, and his cherished granddaughter, Iris. His legacy will continue through them, as well as through his siblings, Dave (Jamie) Pienta Jr., Ron (Sandi) Pienta, and Chris (Doug) Bacon.
A celebration of life will be held on September 20th at the Cedar Rock Sports Plex, with Cornhole America, family, and friends gathering to honor and remember Michael’s incredible life.
