Michael James Hild, 68, passed away in the early morning of February 27, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on January 12, 1957, in Muskegon, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley (Sisson) Hild. Michael lived a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments with family and friends.
Michael was a devoted husband and best friend of 33 years to Pamela Hild (Marr) and a beloved father to Candy Baker, Brandy Baker, James (Tanya) Baker, and Adam (Sydney Jones) Baker. He was also a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn, Robert, Dario, Madison, Kacie, Nathan, Mickenzie, Chase, Ari, Zana, Kendall, and Syriss. His sisters Linda Hild, Rose (Gary) Griener also survives him.
Michael started working at McDonald at the age of 16 and retired from there 45 years later in the corporate headquarters. He had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He found joy in bowling, golf, pool, fishing, and hunting. A dedicated NASCAR fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite drivers. A few of his greatest joys in life were building LEGO creations for his wife Pamela and spending time with his grandchildren and children. His sense of humor and ability to make people laugh left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Even after his passing he was able to leave a lasting impression with two complete strangers by donating his organs.
