Melody June Jamieson was born on October 31, 1964, in Pontiac, Michigan, and passed away on June 14, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous 14-month fight with cancer. She was born to Clare and Norma Castle and graduated from Groves High School in 1982. She married Christopher Jamieson on November 16, 1983. Melody worked as a pharmacy technician for over 30 years, a career that brought her immense joy, and her customers adored her. She embodied a servant's heart, caring deeply for others. She loved traveling, gardening, collected angels and had a very adventurous spirit, always willing to try something new. She cherished the companionship of her dogs and loved them like they were her children. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Chris and she had four children, and they gave her 11 grandchildren. Her home was always open to everyone, and she had many "adopted children" over the years. She was truly the most giving, selfless, and kind soul. She was so incredibly loved and will be deeply missed.
Melody is survived by her mother, Norma Castle, her husband, brothers Art (Pat), Tim (Patty), and Tom (Gina), and sister Clare (Bob), her children Ashley (Shawn), Jeremiah (Zachary), Nicholas (Cate), and Amber (Danny), and her grandchildren Peyton, Griffin, Zachary, Payton, Alex, Charlie, Leland, Addy, Hendrix, Declan, and Harper. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her. She was preceded in death by her father, Clare "Charlie" and a sister, Charlotte, her parent in-laws David and Rita Jamieson, and two brothers-in-law, Brian and Greg Jamieson.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is planned for July 5, 2025, at Benton Township Hall in Cheboygan, Michigan, from 1 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in her name to the charity of your choice.
