Martin Gregory Carnevale

Martin Gregory Carnevale passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2026, at the age of 59. 

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marty was a man who could accomplish just about anything he set his mind to. A talented handyman, he had an incredible ability to figure out any task or project that came his way. Whether it was fixing a home, solving a difficult problem, or lending a helping hand, Marty was the person everyone called when they needed something done. Marty had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and loved every kind of bike. He also found great joy in building furniture, customizing his motorcycles and vehicles, and taking on projects that allowed him to create something with his own hands. 

Throughout his life, he lived in several states, including nearly 20 years in Florida. In recent years, he returned to his hometown of Grand Rapids to live with and care for his father, Douglas Martin Carnevale, ensuring he was there to support him during his final years—a reflection of Marty’s deep love and devotion to his family. One of the greatest blessings of Marty’s life was reconnecting with his only child, his son, Syler (fiancée Sierrah) Moser. Their reunion grew into a close and meaningful relationship filled with love, laughter, and time they both deeply cherished. 

Marty is also survived by his sisters, Maria (Don) Myles and Christine Carnevale, who loved him dearly—even when he had a knack for making their blood boil. He was a proud and loving “Uncle Marty” to his nephew Sean (Sara) Norman and their children, Lexi, Gabe, Avery, Emma, and Dawson, as well as to his niece, Caitlin Johnson. Marty was also blessed to have a lifelong brother figure in John Norman. Their friendship was built on loyalty, laughter, and countless memories, and John held a special place in Marty’s life as family by choice. 

Those who knew Marty will remember him as the person who was always there when someone needed help. He was the one you called when a home project seemed impossible, the one who could always make you laugh, and the one who somehow always knew about the latest deals on Temu. He was generous, caring, dependable, and always willing to put the needs of his family and friends before his own. Marty touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering willingness to help others. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friends he cherished, and the countless lives he made better simply by being there. 

A joint Celebration of Life honoring Martin Gregory Carnevale and his father, Douglas Martin Carnevale, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Belmont, Michigan.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating the lives, memories, and lasting legacies of two men who meant so much to so many. Though they may be gone from our sight, their memories will forever remain in our hearts. They will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
