In Loving Memory of Martha Lou Rodriguez
Martha Rodriguez, affectionately known as Marty, was born on August 18, 1970, in Lansing, Michigan. On August 4, 2026, at the age of 55, Martha passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Marty was a loving, caring, and outspoken woman who had a beautiful ability to make the people around her laugh. She was a free spirit who never hesitated to be herself, and her laughter and personality brought joy to so many people who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all else, Marty was a wonderful and amazing mother. Her family was her world, and she took great pride in seeing her children happy. She was also an absolutely wonderful grandmother who adored her grandchildren and would do everything she could to make them smile. Her love for them was undeniable, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.
Marty enjoyed the simple moments that brought people together. She loved playing cribbage and having a blast during those memorable game nights. She enjoyed many different foods, but Chinese food, chicken nuggets and cola cola (coke) were among the things you could often find her enjoying. She loved all types of music and truly was a free bird / spirit when it came to her musical taste. She also enjoyed watching Sons of Anarchy and Law & Order.
Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children, Paul Franks, Suzanna Tirado, Sarah Tirado, Steven Tirado, and Stepfaine Boykins, and her son-in-law, Raymond Boykins. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Cecellia Barton, William Tirado, Izaiah Tirado, Jessa Tirado, and Emberly Jackson, who brought immense joy and happiness into her life.
Though her passing leaves a quiet ache, Marty is reunited in peaceful rest with those whose absence she keenly felt: her beloved husband, Jesus Rodriguez; her mother and father, Susan and Michael Robertson; her brothers, Michael Martin, Timothy Bennett, and Steven Martin; and her sister, Patrisha Allen. Their spirits, now together, will watch over the family with love everlasting.
The memories her family will cherish most are the memories of Marty simply being their mother—the laughter, the love, the conversations, the crazy moments, and all the little things that made life brighter when she was around. She had a way of making the people she loved smile, and that is a gift her family will carry with them forever.
Mom, we love you and miss you so much. Thank you for being such a wonderful and amazing mother to all of us. Your love, your laughter, and the memories you gave us will forever live in our hearts. Although our hearts are broken that you are no longer here, we find comfort knowing that you are in God’s loving hands and that one day, we will meet again.
Until that day, keep watching over us, Mom. We will carry you with us in everything we do, and we will love you for all of eternity.
The celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Rest peacefully, Marty.
Until we meet again.
We love you forever. ❤
