It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Cieciek on October 1, 2026, just one day shy of his 63rd birthday. Born on October 2, 1963, Mark was deeply loved by his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of enthusiasm, kindness, and a lifelong love for racing.

Mark lived life in the fast lane and was happiest when surrounded by horsepower and the outdoors. He loved camping and taking side-by-side trail rides with his late partner, Bobbie. A dedicated sports fan, he could always be found cheering on his beloved Detroit Lions.

For Mark, racing was a year-round passion. In the summer, he could always be found at Merritt Speedway, his cherished home dirt track. When winter arrived, he transitioned to the indoor carpet oval RC tracks. He was incredibly dedicated to growing the RC racing community, always eager to welcome newcomers and lend a helping hand to both new and seasoned racers alike.

Mark is survived by his mother, his two children, his sister, and his nephew. In keeping with Mark's explicit wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Instead, his family asks that you honor his memory the way he lived: by spending time outdoors, helping a friend in need, or turning a fast lap at the track. He will be greatly missed.
