Mark Bassett

Mark William Bassett, age 64, of Howard City MI, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2023, at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan.

He was born on June 17th, 1958, in Grand Rapids Michigan to Donald Bassett and Sherry DeJong (Bassett; Todd). Mark was a High School graduate of Hudsonville High School, class of 1976. He was known for his hard work to several employers in the mason/truck driving industries. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, listening to music and being around his family and friends. Mark was always one to joke around, and he was a marksman of all trades and a master of none.

He survived by 2 children: Cassie Marie (Josh) Wilder, Chalsea Lynn Bassett, and partner Drew Fouchea; grandchildren Aalah Wilder, Jacob Wilder, and Zaiden Longoria; sister Darleen (Rog) Behrens; brothers Dana (Diane) Bassett; Blake Todd; former wife & friend Linda Bassett. Mark was preceded in death by his father Donald Bassett, mother Sherry DeJong (Bassett; Todd); stepfather Warren Todd and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Marks life will be held in the Spring of 2023, location to be determined. His remains will be spread in Bliss, MI and be buried in a location to be determined.
