Marilyn Burke

Marilyn June Burke, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on June 7, 1929, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marilyn was a woman whose life was defined by her love and the joy she found in her extensive family.

She departed this world in Grandville, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Burke, her sons Thomas Bonner, Terry Bonner, Eric VanSlyke, Robert Sivertsen, Edward Start Jr, and her daughters Judy Terry and Robin Vanderlaan.

She was also preceded in death by her granddaughters, Samantha and Jasmine, her siblings and their spouses, Gladys and Everett Platz, Ray and Paulette Holmes, Paul Holmes, Cal Holmes, Danny Holmes, and Jerry and Nita Holmes.

She is survived by her children Susie Bonner, Jim VanSlyke, Pam Baker, Pat Kuikstra, Keith Sivertsen, and Vern Sivertsen, and her brother Ronald and his wife Judy Holmes.

Her legacy, will continue with a remarkable lineage of 28 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Those who knew Marilyn will remember her as a loving and caring woman. Her generosity extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered.

A graveside Burial will be held at Blythefield Memorial Gardens on May 30th at 3:00pm.

A celebration of life is planned at a future date.
