Maarten Busser

Maarten Jan Busser was born on March 1, 1948 in Nijmegen, Netherlands to Nicholas and Evelyn Busser. 

A very proud veteran, Maarten served proudly as a U.S. Marine, from 1967 to 1969 in the third battalion, 3rd Marines division. Maarten was a mortar man and a rifle marksman. After the Marines, Marty served in the National Guard until 1980 at Fort Custer. 

Marty was an active member at both the Pullman and the Fennville VFW for 40 years. He was everything from Commander, quartermaster, and chaplain. He loved the trips to Florida, where he married the love of his life Bridget on Daytona Beach in 2012. Marty loved deer hunting, boats, the outdoors and riding Harley Davidsons. 

Marty is survived by his loving wife Bridget and family, sisters and their families, and many close friends.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the SPCA of Kalamazoo in honor of Marty.
