Lynn Gouge

Lynn Gouge, age 81, with family by her side, went to be with the Lord on December 30th, 2022. She was born in Detroit to parents Alfred and Reba Lynas, and later, stepdad, Thurskin (Skip) Bulgin. Lynn’s love of animals began with the horse named Penny she owned as a child. As an adult she rescued every stray dog and cat that crossed her path and cherished her backyard wildlife. She worked as a legal secretary until marrying Tom Carter Gouge and raising two daughters. Her love of community led her to become the Chairman of the Planning Commission for Commerce Township. Later, her family moved to Ionia, Michigan to become the owners of Tom Carter Motor Sales. There she acted as receptionist, secretary and anything else needed to hold it together. In retirement, she served as Board Member and Lead Kitchen Angel at Unity Church which she loved dearly, and always enjoyed the theatre and symphony. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughters Dale Marie James, Kathleen West, son-in-law Todd, grandson Carter, and cat Lulu.
