After a bravely fought battle with her health, Lorna Williams (59) of Ravenna, MI left this world to live eternally with her savior, Jesus Christ. Lorna is survived by her childhood friend and husband of more than 40 years, Richard Williams, their six children, Jessica (Kyle) Wilson, Alicia (Rick) Homrich, Amanda (Miguel) Guillen, Bethany (John) Bush, Graham Williams, and Laura (Landon) Potts, and 11 grandchildren, Chloe, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Joslyn, Adaline, Miggy, Boaz, Keziah, Eden, Landon and Simon. She also has two more grandchildren on the way. Additionally, she is survived by her parents, John and Ella Bow and her brother, Graham Bow.
Lorna was raised primarily in Royal Oak, MI by her Scottish immigrant parents but did spend a brief portion of her childhood living in Scotland. She moved to West Michigan in 1990 and raised her family in Ravenna.
Lorna loved her family more than anything. She fulfilled her dream of a big family and relished having her children all together whenever possible. Lorna spent most of her life as a Pastor’s wife. She treasured this role and had a great love for the people in the church congregation. Lorna went back to college while raising her children to become a Registered Nurse. She served for over a decade as a Nurse for Trinity Health Hospital (formerly Hackley Hospital) in Muskegon. She counted it an honor to care for others and did so with compassion and grace. Lorna spent many summers as “The Camp Nurse” and served on a trip to New York City providing aid and prayer to the firefighters immediately following 9/11. She lived her life in service to others and her love was selfless. Lorna enjoyed traveling and camping but her Milieu was amid the chaos of gatherings with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Lorna was a woman of faith, strength and determination and her legacy will live on in her children. She set an example for others with the exemplary care that she provided to her patients. Her impact on those in her church will be cherished. She is loved and missed beyond words.
